Royce "Randy" Sillavan
ROYCE "RANDY" RANDALL SILLAVAN, 72, loving husband, father, grandfather and
great-grandfather went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 2, 2010. Randy
was a Retired Decorated Veteran of the Houston Police Department and Montgomery County
Sheriff's Department. He upheld a family tradition back to his father's generation that has
continued with his brothers, sons, nephews and his grandson- in-law. He was a dedicated
officer to Houston Police Department from 1957-1982 serving as their first ever Fire Arms
Examiner and was in charge of obtaining the AFIS system for the department. His career
continued with Montgomery County Sheriff's Department from 1989-1999 setting up the first
firearms lab in their Crime Scene Investigation Unit. He retired as a Lieutenant over the Crime
Scene Lab at Montgomery County Sheriff's Department. He was a Master Mason at the
Reagan Masonic Lodge, #1037 for 41 years.
He is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-one years, Marjorie Sillavan of Trinity, Texas; three
sons - Ricky Sillavan and wife Brenda of Angleton, Texas; Ronald Sillavan and wife Connie
of League City, Texas; and Michael Sillavan and wife Stephanie of Angleton, Texas;
Grandchildren - Melissa Brinly and husband Scott of League City, Texas; Nichole Sillavan of
Freeport; Texas, Amber McNutt and husband Brian of Tomball, Texas; Ricae Fleck and
husband Andrew of Keller, Texas; Kevin Sillavan of Angleton, Texas; Kristin Sillavan of
Angleton, Texas; Royce Sillavan of League City, Texas; Slade Sillavan of Angleton, Texas.
Great-Grand Children - Jacob Brinly of League City, Texas; Joshua Ecke of Angleton, Texas
and Addalyn McNutt of Tomball, Texas. Siblings - Brother, Russell Sillavan and wife Diane of
Sealy, Texas and Sister, Linda Lipperdt and husband Wayne of Columbus, Texas.
Sister-in-law, Allyne Sillavan of Bellville, Texas. Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and
Nephews.
Randy was preceded in death by his Mother, Sadie Sillavan , Father, Texas Ranger - Hollis
Milton Sillavan and Brother, Robert Sillavan.
